Between working with a multitude of cancer survivors and chemo patients, training and teaching teens and adults of various abilities and disabilities , appearing on “Good Morning, America”, demonstrating fitness moves for famed trainer Erin Oprea and hanging with Robin Roberts, producing and dancing in 10 sold out dance extravaganzas at Mexicali Live in Teaneck, NJ, being a featured instructor and studio at LuluLemon Athletica, teaching free classes for the Washington Heights community, and offering nutrition and fitness seminars and workshops to pre- and teen dancers, Lateefah Fleming has been motivating people of all ages – especially women – through yoga, dance, dance fitness and Pilates classes, fitness training and creating events that showcase the best in world dance under empowerfit Wellness, LLC , a company and experience she founded and serves as President and Chief Motivating Officer. Her work is not about making people look good; it’s about making them feel good and be their best.. She provides the tools that allow people to love themselves and realize they are worth the effort to treat themselves with dignity, respect and pride.
Over the course of Lateefah’s career in wellness, she has tirelessly helped women get through the effects of chemotherapy and radiation, assisted in training women recovering from shoulder/knee and foot surgeries, trained women for marathons/ triathlons/first-time 5k races, developed and implemented fitness and dance programs at senior centers throughout Bergen County, assisted in post-natal health, coordinated dance recitals at senior centers, lead stress reduction workshops for school teachers and created environments where women feel free to connect, uplift and empower themselves and others.. Her work with children of various abilities has taken her to contractual and volunteer work at Thomas Jefferson High School, the Bergen Teen Arts Festival, Man in Motion, LLC, Center for Modern Dance Education, Millennium Dance Company, the City of Englewood, the Township of Teaneck, the City of Hackensack, Beacon High School and working one on one with children in their homes. She has mentored many fitness, yoga and health professionals as a manager or director at various facilities and just as someone who has the knowledge and experience to share.
Lateefah’s dedication to overall wellness has been her mission in the health and fitness industry for over 15 years. Always the student, Lateefah is currently finishing her doula training and is a 200 E-RYT and a candidate for her RYT 500. Certified, educated, experienced, dedicated and caring, Lateefah is in the business of motivation, transformation and empowerment; changing hearts and minds and making people love themselves enough to understand their worth and recognize their true beauty.
